Patch Management

Proactive avoidance of security loopholes

The new Geutebrück Patch Management service

Pop-ups constantly remind you when it's time to update your software to the latest version. During your hectic day-to-day working life it is often hard to find the time to analyze the various points and carry out the update as quickly as possible. The consequences are severe: out-of-date programs are a serious weak spot for every IT department. It may also be the case that the system performance is no longer identical after the updates have been performed, as the update may have changed important parameters. Patch Management is part of the fundamental range of measures to improve IT security and avoids weak spots in the operating system. Using Patch Management, we bring your standard software up to date on a regular and fully automated basis to the latest version and we make sure that important system parameters remain constant.

In order to avoid discrepancies between Microsoft patches with Geutebrück software and the Geutebrück system at an early stage, we are now able to offer you four different patch management packages.

Emergency patches will of course still be communicated by our Quality Management team and will always be offered free of charge.

Patch Management Basic

  • Classification
  • Recommendation
  • Documentation

We check and classify the Windows updates which are released by Microsoft on a regular cycle. These classifications allow us to assess the extent to which the relevant updates affect the Geutebrück software:

“Critical”, “Important” “Not important/not relevant” (for Geutebrück software)

Based on these classifications, Geutebrück offers recommendations including documentation about the evaluation of the patch day.

Patch Management Advanced

Patch Management for Geutebrück hardware

  • Classification
  • Patch Management/installation of updates – e.g. via WSUS in an optional test environment
  • Basic test
  • Documentation

We provide support in installing Windows updates on site or via remote access. As an option, a test routine which corresponds to the system can be created. This includes the implementation of a basic test which verifies the fundamental functions of the software after the update installation. Ideally, a test environment is created for this scenario on site which covers the real system in the form of reference devices.

This recommendation includes the classification of Windows updates including documentation about the evaluation of the patch day on your system.

Patch Management Advanced Third-Party Hardware

Patch Management for Third-Party Hardware

  • Third-Party Hardware (individual)
  • Classification
  • Patch Management/installation of updates – e.g. via WSUS in an optional test environment
  • Basic test
  • Documentation

We provide support in installing Windows updates on site or via remote access. As an option, a test routine which corresponds to the system can be created. This includes the implementation of a basic test which verifies the fundamental functions of the software after the update installation. Ideally, the customer provides an on-site test environment for this scenario which mirrors the real system on a 1-1 basis.

This recommendation includes the classification of Windows updates including documentation about the evaluation of the Geutebrück patch day on your system.

If there is a greater number of video servers, a smaller amount of test devices can be used. These serve as reference devices which are configured in such a way that they cover the functions and parameters of the real system optimally. Geutebrück specialists will provide you with comprehensive advice.
