Planning Certainty for Long-Term System Security
Software is continuously evolving. New technologies emerge, cybersecurity requirements change, and operating systems and hardware platforms are regularly updated.
The Geutebrück Software Lifecycle provides transparency throughout the entire lifecycle of our software solutions. It shows which versions are actively supported, which services are available, and when technological upgrades are recommended.
This allows you to plan your systems for the long term, minimize risks, and sustainably protect your investments.
Why Software Lifecycles Matter
Video security and security management systems are often operated for many years. At the same time, requirements regarding cybersecurity, risk management, and the secure provision of software continue to increase. National and European regulations are placing higher demands on operators of critical and security-relevant infrastructures. A transparent software lifecycle helps organizations keep their systems up to date, secure, and predictable over the long term.
A clearly defined Software Lifecycle helps you to:
- understand the support status of your systems at any time
- reduce security risks
- plan modernization projects at an early stage
- better meet compliance requirements
- protect investments in the long term
- ensure system availability
This creates the foundation for a secure, economical, and future-ready security infrastructure.
Lifecycle Management Is Part of Modern Cybersecurity Strategies
The ability to monitor deployed software versions, update them in a timely manner, and minimize known security risks is becoming increasingly important. Transparent lifecycle models help operators identify technological risks at an early stage and implement long-term modernization strategies.
The Geutebrück Software Lifecycle
The Geutebrück Software Lifecycle provides transparency throughout the entire lifecycle of our software solutions. It shows which versions are actively supported, which services are available, and when technological upgrades are recommended.
Clearly defined lifecycle phases help organizations plan investments for the long term, reduce cybersecurity risks, and ensure the sustainable availability of security solutions.
Current (year 1)
Maximum Security and Innovation
During this phase, the software receives full support from Geutebrück and is actively developed.
You benefit from:
- new features and enhancements
- product improvements
- bug fixes
- security updates
- full technical support
Current is the recommended operating state for productive systems and offers the highest level of innovation, security, and future readiness.
Restricted (years 3-5)
Time to Plan the Next Steps
The software can continue to be used productively but is no longer actively maintained.
During this phase:
- only paid support services are available
- no further security updates are provided
- no technological enhancements are implemented
- future upgrades or migrations should be planned
We recommend upgrading to a current software version to continue benefiting from innovation, security improvements, and new functionality.
Maintained (year 2)
Stability and Security for Productive Operations
The software continues to receive comprehensive support, including regular bug fixes and security-related updates.
You benefit from:
- ongoing support
- bug fixes
- security updates
- long-term stability
- a high level of planning certainty
No new features are developed during this phase. The focus is on reliable and secure system operation.
End of Live (after 5 years)
Outside the Regular Lifecycle
The software is no longer available through the Geutebrück Portal and has reached the end of its regular product lifecycle.
Continued operation may lead to increased risks, including:
- increased cybersecurity risks
- potential compliance challenges
- limited compatibility with new operating systems and platforms
- increased operational and maintenance risks
We strongly recommend upgrading to a current software version to ensure long-term security, compatibility, and investment protection.

Cybersecurity Does Not Start On-Site
At Geutebrück, we take a comprehensive approach to securing our software solutions. This includes a structured Software Lifecycle, regular security updates, as well as security assessments and penetration testing as part of our continuous product maintenance process.
Getting the Most out of the Software Lifecycle
The Software Lifecycle provides transparency regarding the support status, development, and availability of our software solutions. To fully benefit from actively supported software versions, Geutebrück offers a Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA).
With an active SMA, you gain access to software upgrades, technological enhancements, security updates, and support services throughout the relevant lifecycle phases. This helps keep your systems secure, up to date, and future-ready.
Cybersecurity as a Continuous Process
Cybersecurity does not end with system installation. Security requirements continuously evolve and require regular advancement of software and platforms. Outdated or unsupported software can lead to increased security risks and may make compliance with internal security policies more difficult.
The Geutebrück Software Lifecycle provides transparency regarding which software versions are actively supported and receive security updates. This helps operators keep their systems up to date and better prepare for future regulatory requirements.
Planning for Long-Term Success
The Geutebrück Software Lifecycle enables early planning for updates, migrations, and technological advancements. Rather than reacting when support ends, you gain timely visibility into the status of your systems and the available options for future action.
This allows investments to be planned strategically, risks to be reduced, and the availability of your security solution to be ensured over the long term.
Do You Know the Lifecycle Status of Your Systems?
Our experts can help you assess the current status of your installed software and plan future upgrade and modernization strategies.
