FiberSenSys APU plug-in for G-Connect – Perimeter protection alarm seamlessly integrated

Technologypartner: Fiber SenSys Inc

Integration Developer: Geutebrück GmbH

Integration platform: Geutebrück G-Core

Type of Integration: G-Connect

The FiberSenSys APU plug-in for G-Connect integrates perimeter protection events from FiberSenSys Alarm Processing Units (APU) directly into the event and video control of G-Connect/G-Core. As an input driver, the plug-in receives alarms and status messages from APU systems in real time and makes them available in the Geutebrück ecosystem for alerting, logging, and operator-guided workflows—especially for applications on fences, open areas, and critical infrastructure perimeters.

Key features at a glance:

Perfectly matched to G-Connect

Communication takes place via a TCP connection, which enables fast and stable event transmission. The plug-in is designed for scalable installations: it supports up to 128 channels, with each channel representing an APU module. Each module operates independently and can be connected with its own parameters – ideal for environments with many sensor zones and differentiated alarm profiles.

Event types: Alarm, Fault, Tamper

FiberSenSys distinguishes between three main event categories:

  • Intrusion / Alarm
  • Fault (e.g., fiber break or hardware error)
  • Tamper (e.g., housing opened)

Incoming events are clearly named and follow a consistent pattern:
DEVICENAME_DEVICESTATE – e.g., APU1.CHb_ALARM, APU1.CHb_FAULT, APU1.Cha_TAMPER.
This makes it easy to identify and filter events and transfer them to processes.

Uniform event logic in the Geutebrück system

Incoming statuses are mapped to standardized actions in G-Connect via XML definition and made available in G-Core as structured events. Typical perimeter protection semantics (alarm/fault/tamper) are displayed uniformly so that operators can quickly distinguish between security-related alarms, malfunctions, and tampering alerts.

In addition, the integration supports clear fault messages:

  • Device offline: If an APU is not reachable, an offline status is reported.
  • System error: System messages are generated in the event of communication problems.
  • License status: If a license is missing, a corresponding system message is triggered.

High availability through failover capability

The plug-in is failover-capable and therefore suitable for 24/7 security environments. Even in the event of temporary communication failures, the goal remains to provide events as continuously as possible and to keep control center operations stable.

Performance features at a glance:

  • Seamless integration of FiberSenSys APU perimeter protection into G-Connect/G-Core
  • Real-time transfer of alarm, fault, and tampering events
  • TCP-based communication for fast and stable event transmission
  • Scalable up to 128 channels/APU modules, suitable for large perimeter systems
  • Uniform event logic for alarms, logging, and workflows
  • Clear fault and status messages (offline/communication error/license status)
  • Failover-capable for higher availability in continuous operation
The FiberSenSys APU plug-in for G-Connect is particularly suitable for operators who do not treat perimeter protection events in isolation, but as part of a continuous security process – with central event management, rapid response capabilities, and the option of immediate video verification in the Geutebrück system.
