Hybrid architectures, optimized Axis integration and extended, bandwidth-saving dynamic stream selection: with the new G-Core version 8.2 and the integrated plug-in loader version 1.2
October 10, 2024
The new features of G-Core 8.2 at a glance:
- Edge recording for Axis cameras: As with ONVIF-integrated cameras, video recordings from Axis cameras (integrated via the Axis plug-in) can now also be imported into the G-Core video database from the camera's internal memory cards. This prevents recording gaps, e.g. in the event of network interruptions.
- 2-way audio with Axis cameras: In addition to the sound recording of the integrated microphone, audio can now also be output via a camera-integrated loudspeaker. This supports de-escalation by directly addressing perpetrators or by playing predefined audio files in the event of critical incidents.
- DSS 2.0: The dynamic stream selection now processes up to four streams from a camera with different resolutions. The viewers in G-View and in the G-SIM OpCon automatically display the stream whose resolution optimally matches the viewer size. There is no mutual interference if several viewers in the network display the same camera in different sizes. DSS 2.0 thus minimizes the bandwidth load on transmission networks between server and ViewStations.
- Support for plug-in loader version 1.2: Video analysis data, actions and events from cameras connected via this module (Hanwha, Geutebrück H series or ONVIF), whether local or remote, are fully processed. This allows you to conveniently integrate cameras from remote locations into G-Core via VPN with full functionality.
You can find more details in our release notes. As usual, you can download the installer for G-Core 8.2 from our partner portal.
The Remote Plugin Loader is the basis for distributed architectures with G-Core. Cameras at remote locations can be connected directly to a G-Core in a central location via a VPN connection. A G-Core server is then no longer required at the camera location. This also makes cloud-based architectures possible.
The features of the Plugin Loader 1.2 at a glance:
- Integration and processing of camera-generated metadata: Event and metadata from connected cameras can now be used in G-Core as event triggers or saved with events.
- When using camera-integrated video analysis (e.g. from Hanwha or cameras from the new
H series), the results are displayed with bounding boxes that direct the operator's focus to the image detail recognized by the video analysis (in G-SIM from the upcoming version). - Simple integration of multi-sensor cameras from our partner Hanwha: you can integrate multi-sensor cameras into G-Core with just a few clicks. This greatly simplifies and speeds up configuration. As it only requires one CamConnect license, this variant also saves costs for your customers.
- Even easier configuration: Various usability improvements simplify and speed up the configuration of the plug-in loader.
More information and the current software version for download can be found as usual in our partner portal.
